Ron thanked Mary for her help in
compiling results of the survey received from close to half of the Sable
Ridge residents. David then
opened the meeting for discussion regarding the ballot questions.
Janis made a motion that a group
be formed to meet to discuss alternative operating procedures for the
SRVRA, which was seconded by Alison.
With three against, the motion carried.
This was followed by Bev’s motion to table the motion until
ballot results are available. Her
motion was seconded and approved unanimously.
During a ten-minute refreshment
break Ron tabulated the results of the ballot questions,
When the meeting resumed, Ron
made a motion that whoever wants to be a member of the group to discuss
alternative operating procedures to indicate so today.
The motion was seconded and approved.
David passed around a sign-up sheet for the group meeting to be
held in lieu of the SRVRA 3:30pm, October 12, meeting at Ashley Hall.
David will send out an e-mail reminder about the group meeting,
which is open to all SRVRA members.
Results of the ballot questions
follow:
1.
Should the SRVRA cease to exist as an organization effective
January 1, 2011? No.
2.
What should be the frequency and duration of meetings?
Quarterly, with meetings lasting less than 60 minutes.
Note: Most responders
were in favor of inviting guest speakers.
3.
Should the Social Committee be formally abolished?
Yes. Mixed results but
no one wanted to chair the committee.
However, there was a resounding “Yes” to having planned social
events.
4.
Neighbor Helping Neighbor (NHN): Are you willing to be listed on the SRVRA Web site as a
person who is willing to be called upon by a neighbor for help when
needed? About half the

survey follows: Decorating:
